It’s getting dark. The rain is pelting down, and dark figures are melting into the shadows as they slump down the twisted city streets. Hardboiled detectives, duplicitous dames, chumps, stooges, patsies, and crooked thugs abound in this month’s movie club: NOVEMB-NOIR-ER!!

November 8: The Maltese Falcon

Humphrey Bogart is Sam Spade, a private detective dealing with a revolving door of crooks and scoundrels in one of the seminal works of the great noir genre!

November 15: Kiss Me Deadly

"Dark and sinister” are not strong enough words to describe the undertones of this twisted nihilistic tale of a private investigator embroiled in a strange mystery!

November 22: Touch of Evil

Orson Welles directs and stars in a tumultuous border story of corruption and danger, in one of the great final noirs of the classic period!

November 29: Fargo

As a segue into the snowy theme of December, we take noir into the modern era with the Coen Brothers’ expertly crafted tale of a depraved car salesman who plots to kidnap his own wife!
