September is “Starting Off September," in which we will focus on early or debut films from interesting directors!
Paul Verhoeven goes to space in the oft-misunderstood sci-fi classic about our future as a fascist-imperialist society that battles space bugs! Incredibly violent, dripping with satire, and starring a young cast that seems to have been dropped in from an episode of 90210, Starship Troopers is a masterpiece of cinema that deeply deserves a rewatch if you haven’t seen it since you snuck into the theater as a 12-year-old (or an 8-year-old. Or a 3-year-old! Or merely as the glimmer in your father’s eye!).
*not Verhoeven's first film, but too good an opportunity to miss!*
