OUR STORY
Adam Knight of Red Element Studios started Collective Chemistry as a micro-coworking space in Downtown Seattle in 2013. At the time, Red Element was solely a video production company, and was just Adam, then one employee, then two. The many freelance video professionals that Adam would hire for his shoots became the first Collective Chemistry members, as well as a smattering of folks from the Freelancer’s Meet Up that Adam hosted.
Kendall Rock joined CC after Adam moved locations to Pioneer Square. A recent college grad determined to “figure out” a self-employed lifestyle, Kendall found the support and encouragement that she needed from fellow coworkers, and quickly became involved in the event planning and community building aspects of the business.
Red Element took off in the pandemic, when live-streaming was king, and Adam called Kendall with an idea. Take over the business of Collective Chemistry?
While we still have a strong base of cinematographers, editors, and photographers, Collective Chemistry has diversified in the Ballard space.
